Spring Cleaning Checklist

Is this weekend a good time to begin your "Spring Clean?"

With the lovely weather and the "Spring feel" in the air,  here are a few ideas to begin with!

Outside Maintenance

Inspect the Roof and Gutter

Clear the debris as this will certainly stop damage to gutters. If you have been considering getting leaf guards, then maybe its a good time to get that quote in and plan for installation before the Fall.

Power wash the outside of the house

Clean walls and a fresh look, even a touch up of paint on the front door can make your home come up shining!  Power wash the pathways, windows and the even the deck and get rid of the winter moss and pine needles too!

Check the Windows

Make sure the windows are easy to slide and if not, it may be time to service them.

Bug screens on the windows may be damaged or old and perhaps its a good time to clean them or replace them

The Front Porch

Check your porch and add some spring flowers to baskets.

Add some summer cushions to your clean rockers and check that your front door mat is welcoming and clean

Blow the leaves and get rid of excess garden debris.

Prep the flower beds and plant some lovely summer flowers

Clean the driveway and see if your garage door needs a fresh coat of paint

The fascia boards may need painting or maintenance too

Inside Maintenance

General Cleaning and Maintenance

Wash the inside walls and windows or consider a fresh coat of paint in some tired areas

Wash all inside windows and blinds

Vacuum/wash/dry clean all window coverings.

Move furniture to the center of each room and vacuum thoroughly. Shampoo carpets

Dust and wash light fixtures and chandeliers.

Wash all knickknacks.

Vacuum books and shelves.

Vacuum lampshades. Replace lightbulbs

Deep clean shower, toilet, floor and sink.

Sort Your Closets

Pack away the heavy winter items and pull out the lighter items ready for the spring and the summer warmth. Take a look through the closet and donate clothes not during the winter season. If you did not wear it this winter, are you likely to wear it next winter?

Launder all heavy blankets and bedding and pack them away. Turn and air the mattresses

Kitchen Maintenance

Clean oven and soak stove rings and drip pans.

Does the refrigerator and freezer need to be cleaned? Maybe you have expired food in the cabinets or freezer and this would be a great time to get rid of those items past their sell by date!

Consider a Garage Sale

Label items you no longer want and make them easily accessible to get ready for a Garage Sale

Its a great time now to get ready for the summer and with the comfortable weather, there is no better time to do it!
